My name is Galina Haakenson and I am a local artist who mostly specializes in acrylics. I moved to Minnesota 8 years ago and absolutely love this state! There are many lakes and parks here. I love the woods, the forest and nature in general. It is a big pleasure to spend time there. I love to take pictures and use it for my paintings.
When I was a little girl, I loved to go to my grandmother’s. I would draw pictures with flowers and ponds with ducks on it. She lived in a very small town surrounded by woods, fields with wildflowers and ponds. It was beautiful place! I picked wildflowers for my grandma and would make her bouquets. I loved her so much. She was and is my inspiration, even though she is gone. That’s why I like to paint landscapes and nature.

Galina Haakenson is a very talented, acrylic artist who currently specializes in landscapes. Galina has most recently been painting some acrylic animals, and they have turned out very beautiful. She uses acrylic paint on canvas now but plans to use oil, as well as water color paints, in the near future. We look forward to seeing many wonderful works of art from Galina Haakenson!
